Consultation Fee Including Diagnostic Ultrasound Scan - £125.00

This charge includes the full consultation, diagnostic ultrasound scan as well as the post consultation documentation including your report and images.

Ultrasound Guided Injections - £250.00

Ultrasound guided injections are charged as a single cost for the consultation, diagnostic ultrasound scan (including report and images), needle intervention itself and medication charges for local anaesthetic and corticosteroid.  The majority of ultrasound guided injections performed will use corticosteroid which is a powerful anti-inflammatory medication. "Prolotherapy" Regenerative Ultrasound Guided Injections - £275.00

Proliferative Therapy (Prolotherapy) aims to cause micro-inflammation at the pain source to stimulate a healing response. Most commonly, this form of treatment is aimed and chronic tendon disorders. During a prolotherapy injection, depending on the clinical scenario a mixture of local anaesthetic and dextrose may be used and some dry needling to stimulate micro-trauma may also be carried out under ultrasound. Sodium Hyarulonate/ Hyarulonic Acid Injections - £320.00

Hyaluronic Acid or Sodium Hyaluronate is a naturally occurring gel substance found within our joints and between tendon sheaths in our body. Within musculoskeletal conditions research has focused on it's anti-inflammatory properties as well as it's ability to reduce joint reaction forces and friction. Shoulder Hydrodistension & Tendon Barbotage Procedures - £325.00

Some of the advanced ultrasound guided injection procedures will require a longer scheduled appointment time hence the additional cost. 

A hydrodistension or hydrodilatation procedure involves completing an ultrasound guided injection to the shoulder joint but additional high volume of local anaesthetic and saline (salt water) is injected at high pressure within the joint capsule to distend the soft tissue capsule. Barbotage procedures are designed to break down calcific deposits within tendons which are likely the cause of immobility and pain. It is performed under local anaesthetic and once the needle has successfully reduced the calcific deposit it is then aspirated under high pressure using local anaesthetic or saline (salt water).
